Tortilla Pizza in the Air Fryer

A thin, crispy pizza on a tortilla base with tomato paste, mozzarella, salami, mushrooms and a dash of Tabasco, ready in the air fryer in eight minutes. When a pizza craving hits on a busy evening, this quick little trick saves the day without any dough-making.

What you'll need.

  • 1 large tortilla
  • Tomato paste
  • Mozzarella, grated
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Champignons, sliced
  • Salami
  • Dried basil
  • Tabasco sauce
  • Fresh parsley

How to make it.

  1. Place the tortilla in the air fryer basket.
  2. Spread it with tomato paste and sprinkle with dried basil.
  3. Top with sliced tomatoes, mushrooms and salami.
  4. Add the grated mozzarella and a few drops of Tabasco.
  5. Air fry for 8 minutes at 180°C (350°F) until the edges are crisp and the cheese bubbles. Finish with fresh parsley.

My tips.

A sprinkle of cheese directly on the tortilla under the toppings keeps the base from going soggy. Watch the last minute of cooking, thin edges brown very quickly.

Good to know.

Can I prepare it ahead?
It is so quick that it is best made fresh, assembly takes five minutes.

What other toppings work?
Ham, olives, bell pepper or leftover chicken, treat it like any pizza.

Is it lighter than regular pizza?
Yes, the thin tortilla base means fewer carbs than a classic dough crust.
