Honey Sesame Walnuts in the Air Fryer

Crunchy honey-glazed walnuts with sesame and poppy seeds and a pinch of coarse salt, toasted in the air fryer in just ten minutes. They make a wonderful snack with tea, a lovely topping for salads and porridge, or a sweet little homemade gift in a pretty jar.

What you'll need.

  • Walnuts
  • Honey
  • Sesame seeds
  • Poppy seeds
  • A pinch of coarse salt

How to make it.

  1. Rinse the walnuts and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Toss them with honey until evenly coated.
  3. Add the sesame seeds, poppy seeds and a little coarse salt, and mix well.
  4. Air fry for 10 minutes at 180°C (350°F), shaking the basket every 3 minutes.
  5. Let the nuts cool completely, the glaze crisps up as they rest.

My tips.

Watch them closely in the last minutes, honey can go from golden to burnt quickly. Line the basket with parchment for easier cleanup and let the nuts cool in a single layer so they stay crunchy.

Good to know.

How long do they keep?
Up to two weeks in an airtight jar at room temperature.

Can I use other nuts?
Yes, pecans, almonds or cashews all work with the same timing.

Are they healthy?
Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fats, just enjoy them in small handfuls as the honey adds sugar.
