Honey Garlic Hasselback Air Fryer Potatoes

These Hasselback-style potatoes open into crisp, seasoned layers in the air fryer, then receive a glossy honey-garlic finish. Smoked paprika and green onions add colour and savoury warmth, turning simple potatoes into a memorable side. Serve with almost any main.
What you'll need.
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried garlic
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to make it.
- Cut thin slices across each potato without cutting all the way through.
- Mix 1 tablespoon olive oil with paprika, dried garlic, salt and pepper and brush it between the cuts.
- Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes.
- Mix the remaining oil with honey, minced garlic and green onions and brush it over the potatoes.
- Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes more, until glossy, crisp and tender.
My tips.
Place wooden spoon handles beside each potato while cutting to prevent the knife from going all the way through. For a savoury variation, omit the honey and add grated Parmesan.
Good to know.
Can I cut the potatoes ahead?
Yes. Keep them submerged in cold water, then dry thoroughly before seasoning.
Do I need to peel them?
No. Clean skins can be left on for extra texture and flavour.
What should I serve with them?
They suit roasted chicken, grilled meat, fish, or a large vegetable salad.
