Creamy Herb Air Fryer Chicken Breast

Sour cream keeps this sliced chicken breast tender while cumin, basil and Provençal herbs add gentle savoury flavour. A little sriracha at the table brings brightness, making this a quick, protein-rich dinner for busy evenings. It suits busy weeknights.

Sour cream keeps this sliced chicken breast tender while cumin, basil and Provençal herbs add gentle savoury flavour. A little sriracha at the table brings brightness, making this a quick, protein-rich dinner for busy evenings. It suits busy weeknights.

What you'll need.

  • 1 large chicken breast (about 400 g), sliced
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp Provençal herbs
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Sriracha sauce, to serve

How to make it.

  1. Slice the chicken breast into even pieces and pat them dry.
  2. Season with salt, pepper, cumin, basil and Provençal herbs.
  3. Add the sour cream and mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the pieces in one layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 12 minutes, turning halfway, then serve with sriracha.

My tips.

Cut the chicken into equal pieces and avoid crowding the basket so it cooks evenly. For a milder variation, replace the sriracha with sweet chilli sauce.

Good to know.

Can I coat the chicken ahead?
Yes. Refrigerate it in the sour cream mixture for up to 8 hours.

Can I use chicken thighs?
Boneless thighs work well and may need a few extra minutes.

What should I serve with it?
Rice, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad are all easy choices.
