Air Fryer Soft-Boiled Egg Toast

Soft-set eggs, crisp whole-grain toast and a creamy layer of cheese make a comforting breakfast with almost no fuss. The air fryer handles both the eggs and bread, so this nourishing little meal is ready in minutes and feels just right for a relaxed morning.
What you'll need.
- 3 large eggs
- 3 slices whole-grain bread
- 3 tbsp cream cheese
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Ice, for the water bath
How to make it.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the eggs carefully in the basket.
- Air fry the eggs for 7 minutes for soft centres.
- Transfer the eggs immediately to a bowl of ice water and leave for 3 minutes.
- Air fry the whole-grain bread for 4 minutes, until crisp and lightly golden.
- Spread the toast with cream cheese, peel and halve the eggs, then finish with green onions, salt and pepper.
My tips.
Move the eggs straight into ice water to stop the cooking and make them easier to peel. For a richer variation, add sliced avocado or a pinch of smoked paprika.
Good to know.
Can I cook the eggs ahead?
Yes. Refrigerate the cooled eggs in their shells for up to two days and peel them when needed.
Can I use another cheese?
Ricotta, cottage cheese, or thick Greek yogurt all work well on the toast.
How do I make firmer eggs?
Add 2 to 3 minutes to the air-frying time, depending on the size of the eggs.
