Air Fryer Pork Neck Chops with Mushrooms

Juicy pork neck chops become deeply savoury under a generous topping of mushrooms, shallots, garlic and melted cheese. The air fryer browns the meat first, then finishes everything together, giving you a cosy, satisfying dinner without turning on the oven.
What you'll need.
- 4 pork neck chops (about 700 g)
- 250 g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 120 g cheese, grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried garlic
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
How to make it.
- Season the pork with salt, pepper, dried garlic and smoked paprika, then rub with half the oil.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Air fry the pork for 7 minutes.
- Meanwhile, slice the mushrooms, chop the shallots, grate the cheese and mince the garlic.
- Mix the mushrooms, shallots, cheese, garlic and mayonnaise, then spoon the mixture over the chops.
- Return the chops to the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes more, until the pork is cooked through and the topping is golden.
My tips.
Choose chops of similar thickness and check the thickest one before serving so the pork stays juicy. For a lighter variation, use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise and reduce the cheese slightly.
Good to know.
Can I prepare the topping ahead?
Yes. Mix it several hours in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator.
Can I use another cut of pork?
Boneless loin chops work, but they are leaner, so begin checking them a few minutes earlier.
What should I serve with this dish?
Mashed potatoes, green beans, or a sharp cabbage salad balance the rich topping beautifully.
