Air Fryer Brie Croissant with Figs

Warm brie, sweet figs, honey and pine nuts turn a simple croissant into a small café-style pleasure. The air fryer softens the cheese in only five minutes, so this elegant snack feels special while staying wonderfully quick and easy to prepare.

Warm brie, sweet figs, honey and pine nuts turn a simple croissant into a small café-style pleasure. The air fryer softens the cheese in only five minutes, so this elegant snack feels special while staying wonderfully quick and easy to prepare.

What you'll need.

  • 2 croissants, halved
  • 150 g brie
  • 2 fresh figs, sliced
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts, roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp oil or softened butter

How to make it.

  1. Cut the croissants in half and lightly brush the cut sides with oil or softened butter.
  2. Place the brie in a small air-fryer-safe dish.
  3. Air fry the brie at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes, until soft and creamy.
  4. Slice the figs and roughly chop the pine nuts while the cheese warms.
  5. Spread the melted brie over the croissants, top with figs and pine nuts, then drizzle lightly with honey.

My tips.

Warm the brie only until soft, because overheating can make the cheese separate. For a savoury variation, replace the figs and honey with sliced pear and a little black pepper.

Good to know.

Can I prepare this ahead?
Slice the figs and nuts in advance, but warm the brie and assemble the croissants just before serving.

Can I use another cheese?
Camembert works beautifully, while soft goat cheese gives a pleasantly tangy result.

What can I serve with it?
Add a green salad for lunch, or serve the croissants as part of a relaxed brunch.
